I received my softpaws order earlier this week, and in a monumental team effort, they were applied without bloodshed.

Cailet is now sporting lovely hot pink front pawnails (I am not a terribly pink person, it was the most insulting color I could think of; which is not to say it does not look absolutely lovely on other people, I just think of Cailet as a very Goth cat)

I burritoed and manipulated her paws, [livejournal.com profile] roho did the gluing and application. We had to rewrap her a few times, she was most displeased. But she didn't bite me, and her struggles were more the 'get me out of here' than 'I'm going to eat you'.

Overall, a great success. Looking at the softclaws themselves, I have no doubt that this will ease the destruction. I am going to wait a couple of days, then perhaps apply them to her rear claws as well, as both cats like to launch themselves violently.

I don't mind buying more if this will solve the problem.

Why did I not know these existed?!

Our cat is destructive as well. He not only claws, but chews EVERYTHING. Our trim and baseboards and carpet are in tatters. -.-

Might have to get some of these.

We may be laughing our asses off every time she 'tick tick ticks' past in a huff, and Brendan was very pleased when he went to get up and she slid off his lap instead of digging in as is her wont.

I was very pleased with them, to be honest; they arrived within a couple days of my order, and it's $23 (incl shipping) for a typical 6 month supply.

They were easy for two people to apply to a VERY cranky cat. Thusfar I feel it's money very well spent. :)

I was not fond of her acupuncture treatments. Nor were my clothes. :)

I also use these on my own Destructokitty, when I can get him to cooperate long enough, since it's just me having to wrap/hold/apply. I do like them, and they are very effective, but I've noticed that Panda (aforementioned Destructokitty) manages to actually chew them off after a few days. O.o

cailet seems remarkably unperturbed, beyond the 3-4 minutes of 'I HATE YOU... okay I will accept loves.'

Thankfully she's not chewing at her toes. Going to keep a close eye on her the next couple of days. :)

Could be that it's because Panda spends his life in a perpetual state of 'I HATE YOU... but, I really want to be scritched... aaaand, no more now.'
